recent version of 54G against old version of GS

In the shops of my city (in east Europe), they have only 54G v3.1 (CDF9) and old 54GS v1.1 (CGN2).

I am a bit more interested by the GS model, as it as more flash and RAM, that can be usefull for open firmwares like DD-WRT. And also the speedboosteer feature, but which I understand is no use for me as I don't have a specific Linksys card in my laptop that support it.

But I am hesitating, as the version is old, and has been already updated several time.

Is there some problem with 54GS v1.1? Is it better to buy a 54G with more recent hardware version? or should I try to find a recent (v2.1 or v3) 54GS?

Differences in the effectiveness of Linksys quality control will be more difference than the hardware build between these two. Roll the dice and find out. ;)
