Removing parts of the Webgui

Hi, I got a WRT54GX and unfortunately there's no custom firmware that I know of, not sure if any of them can do what I want here though.

Basically I want to remove parts of the webgui such as Filters.htm and other parts that I don't want people to change. After I installed the router I would just give the pass/user to someone that was appointed to hold it.

However I noticed that some have removed the restriction and what not from what I have set originally.

I was wondering if there is someway to remove parts of the webgui by replacing, say Filters.htm, with the same file modified (simple html) to not show Filters.htm (Access restriction).

Or at the very least, rename Filters.htm to something they can possible guess.

Can tftp be used for this ? I haven't tried yet. Maybe someone can start me of.

    Thanks

    Anyway ?€

The web pages will be stored in a readonly flash partition, you will not be able to change them - unless you can extract the filesystem from the firmware, modify and rebuild on a linux machine

Such a procedure is possible for the WRT54G/GS, see for example

    http://www.bitsum.com/firmware_mod_kit.htm

and I have copied the philosophy for my ADSL2MUE here

    http://www.linksysinfo.org/forums/showthread.php?t=51806

I have no idea of the file format, offsets and tools you would need for the WRT54GX, and I wouldn't recommend you trying to load modified firmware unless you have a working serial console cable and working JTAG connector to recover from the inevitable bricks!
