Renaming .cfg file causes problems?

    Not sure it is not a user mistake, but here is a scenario:

    - save your .cfg file using something else than default name;
    - clear nvram and reboot;
    - restore from the renamed .cfg file;

    Not able to login. "Error on the page". Strange web page load.

    Can anyone deny or confirm?

    No, changing the name does not usually matter. I name all of my files to avoid confusion between routers when I need to back up/restore.

    Ditto here. I rename mine all the time.

    The contents of the .cfg file give no indication of the name of the file.

    OK, good to know.

    As I mentioned, could be user mistake (I don't really think so, but whatever).

    Did any of you guys renamed the file while in the Save dialog?

    Always

    Makes no difference where you rename it. I must have saved and restore thousands of times, even over quite poor web links, and never had any failure yet. I think that was just coincidence.
