Repairing a WRT54G

    Hi all,

    I have a Linksys WRT54G router that I was given by a friend. The unit is no longer working due to someone messed up flashing the box then when trying to repair it wrote over the boot block of the flash.

    Now I have a dead router lol.

    I have a programmer and the tools to remove the flash so reflashing it isnt a problem. What I do need is a complete dump of a WRT flash (including the bootblock, not just a firmware image).

    Can anyone help me out with a complete dump of the chip?

    You'll need to use JTAG to reflash the flash chip.
    This requires soldering a header on the board and connecting it to a parrallel port on your computer with an easy to make cable.

    The tutorial & Linux progs needed for this are inclueded in the download below. There is a windows port from this prog too, but I currently don't have a link to it. But if you know some general linux, you can easely get the linux prog working.
