I currently have a WAG54G at the centre of my Home Network. Two Laptops are Wireless using the WPC11 and WPC54G Notebook adapters, and the 2 desktop PC's are wired.

Everything has been great for over 14 months, I am still using firmare 1.00.7 no problems whatsoever.

But now my daughter has got to the age where she wants to burn the midnight oil chatting to her friends. The problem I am now having is trying to set up a policy in the router that will only allow her internet acces between certain hours. I don't want to cut her wireless altogether as she shares my printer.

In the Restrict Access tab of the set up screen have have a Policy that just uses her MAC address for the adaptor. I have selected the hours during which I will allow her access the internet, yet on saving the settings her PC is still able to get service outside of the allowed hours.

The last section on the list concerns the blocked services. Should I be entering details in there, or can I leave them all set to none as they currently are. If yes, then what should they be.

Our ISP is AOL so I can easily set parental controls for that client, but when she is not using that, she has a free run. Her favourite chat program at the moment is MSN Messenger

I would be ever so grateful if somebody can offer some assistance

    Yep :)

If it's just Messenger you want to block then just add the ports it uses, which isn't as straightforward as it sounds :| The following article from Microsoft's knowledgebase recommends blocking port 1863 on TCP and access to on port 80 TCP. There are lots of other ports that messenger uses but by blocking those it should stop her being able to log in.
