    Hi everyone,

I have a strange problem: when I visit particular sites (more specifically, specific parts of specific sites), I immediatley lose my internet connection and I am even unable to connect to the router config page. This is very reprodicuble with these sites, it crashes every time. To fix, I usually have to reboot the computer and do a hard reboot of the router. Additionally, I cannot ping the router when this happens. I'm not a networking expert, so I am figuring there may be some setting in the config that may be responsible for these crashes. Also, sorry if this is a repost, but I could not find anyone else with this problem in the forums. Thanks in advance for any help on this.

could you test this problem without the router?

Hey Toxic, I will try to do this and post the results. The only reason I didn't before is because my internet jack is on the other side of the room from my tower and the router makes a nice extension for my 2 short ethernet cords.

OK, so much to my surprise I had the same problem without the router between my computer and the wall. I thought for sure it was the router because I couldn't even connect to the config page. However, I did another test which was to disable Norton Firewall and I had no problem with or without the router. Not that I expect anyone here to be a Norton expert, since it is a linksys forum, but does anyone know off the top of their head why Norton might do this? Thanks for the help.

router crash and looking for Ip addresses with Road Runner

Road runner causes crash of linksys equipment on multiple occassions. It can be replicated, often but is tedious reboot of cable moden WRT54G v 1.1 and computer. Have no WEP and local wireless networks in NY City are many
