Router (Dropbear) as SSH client for VPS

I want to create a shh tunnel between my router (shibby build) and a remote server for a socks5 proxy. The goal is to have my NAS use the VPS as a proxy for my bittorrent client, but not for anything else. I have considered using VPN, but it doesn't seem like there is a good way to mark only the torrent traffic to use the VPN gateway so this is the only alternative I can think of.

I am somewhat of a noob when it comes to networking, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is possible, and if so, could the tunnel creation be scripted so the router automatically creates the tunnel on boot and reestablishes the connection if it is lost? Thanks for your help!!
