Router instead of USB

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by epiphonelespaul, Dec 30, 2006.

  1. Hi all

I currently have a usb adapter connected to a satellite dish in place of an lnb.
I use this to connect to a wireless provider 5 km away, it works very well but I would like to use a router with modified firmware so I can use cat5 cable.
The problems with my usb is that I cannot run long cable lengths and it is very hard to network without using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) on Win XP.
    Any ideas?

I havent looked in a while but i think they make a usb to ethernet converter, if so that is all that you should need to get the router to pull an ip vice your pc.
