    Yesterday I bought the WRT54GS.

With Orginal Firmwar it was working well, then I flashed the latest to the latest WIFI version. Router come up properly.

Then I changed the Internal IP from, to with Subnet The Browser (Router) said that this is not a valid IP.

Therefore I changed it, aplied and changes been saved.

But now I am no longer able to get it touch with the router,
i tried i with DHCP and manuall addess Adress at the PC Networkcard, 172.16.1..11 ( also the valid subnetmask)

I even press the reset button ( 30 -60 Second) and detached the Power
    cable over night.

But this morning there still same issue.

Has anybody Ideas to make a real Hardware Reset or,
or what can I do , to make it working again?

Hopefully it is not dead :(

I am well known in Networking and with Router inclusive Serial Interface,
but unfortunately the WRT54G has no serial interface.

    Hopefully someone can it. anyway

    Thanks in advance

you reset router but is you pc that you are trying to connect to the router setup setup with same ip range and subnet and router defaukts now?

make sure you pc is using the same subnet.

    I'll second that.

Is the computer's TCP/IP set to obtain an IP automatically? What is the IP being assigned to the computer?

Have you been able to PING it at the IP addresses you thought it should be?

First off all I got it fixed up.

Yes I run some test with DHCP and with correct subnetmask,
but I was not able to establish a conncetion.

Then I tried to reset the router once again and then It worked. ;)

But I cant change routers IP to, when I do this only a Hardware resett will help.

Thanks for all with the help.
