I just installed v24 of DD-WRT on a Buffalo WHR-HP-54G and when I type in the LAN IP address, no window pops up asking for username and password. I have set this in the admin section but it is never asked when I log into the router.

    Why is this happening?

    Thanks!

Securing monitor mode is an option.

If your using firefox, close it down, reboot the unit then try again.

Browsers can store the passwords sometimes.

The first page you connect to on dd-wrt is "monitor". This is usually not secured. Navigate "deeper", and you'll be asked to authenticate.

    Will do.
I noticed this. Can the "monitor" page be secured?

I guess you missed my reply. Yes, it is an option.

    Is that under "Administration?"
