router settings don't save

    I recently chganged out a linksys wireless router i had problems with. I installed the replacement router and the setting are not being saved. I have to reload the disc each time i sign on. Needless to say it's a pain in the .... SUGGESTIONS???? The only thing i questioned was the static ip ..or hdpc or what ever choices.. not sure i chose the right one

    The WRT settings are stored in the router flash memory and are either entered in manually through the web interface or loaded (via the web interface) from a previously saved configuration.

    Restoring the saved settings from a different WRT may be risky (resulting in wrong settings or bricked WRT), at least use saved configs from the same firmware version and WRT version.
