rrdtools/mrtg ON the WRT54G box?

Discussion in 'Cisco/Linksys Wireless Routers' started by skippinglessons, Jun 22, 2005.

  1. Hi,

I see quite most of the WRT54G firmwares support SNMP now, so graphing network usage on an external host is a trivial thing.

However, what I would like to see is a minimalistic (in terms of memory use) firmware storing the rrdtools/mrtg data ON the box and letting me see it.

A day worth of data would be somewhere between 15k and 30k, but I'm only interested in graphing external interface, so that's only 2k to 4k of data a day, and i don't care for loose of data on reboots or longer periods.

All I want to be able to take a look at the last couple of hours and current status.

    Does it exist?

    A.

Not with SNMP. Graphers are too big and require perl (also big, and heavy) to work.
WRTbwlog by litthewhoo suppose to show some graphs in the future releases.

Agreed, the full perl library can't be run on the WRT54G/gs. Littlewhoo's WRTbwlog is the best available statistical solution which can be run solely on the WRT54G/gs
