    Hi,

Updated my RT-AC56U to Tomato Shibby tomato-RT-AC56U-ARM-119-AIO-64K.trx but the router don't boot. Tried different versions, but no success, no indicators are switched on, except power and sometimes 2.4Ghz. I used Asus restoration utility to upload firmware and common method through the stock firmware. Don't know what to do, I like Shibby's firmware a lot, please assist!

RT-AC56U leds on tomato don`t works. Flash tomato firmware using Asus firmware restoration tool and leave router for 3-4mins. It will boot up. Remember to restore default configuration in AsusWRT before install tomato.

install tomato, wait 3-4mins, turn off power, push and hold wifi on/off button and turn power on, wait even 30secs than release buton and wait until router boot up. after that you should be able log on to router. You can also try set static ip on your network card. It may help until you will erase nvram from GUI.

This is my first attempt trying install tomato on a RT-AC56U

I got as far as using the restore utility, uploaded tomato I did even try the 30-30-30 reset and the 30 sec wifi on/off trick.

The resul is alway the same, http://192.168.1.1 gives me:

The wifi led lits up and I have a wireless network available called ASUS, so I guess what I did was not correct to have tomato installed.

Shibby, just for clarity, as per this page also in my case it wasn't the WiFi button but the WPS instead

Sorry late to this thread, as mentioned above, recovery mode is reliable, I have had minor issues using other methods.
I clear NVRAM in recovery mode.

    Cheers, Nick.
