Quick question, but aside the pros of RT-N16 and pros of E3000, which will provide the fastest NAS experience? I've read alot on the internet, and it looks like me as RT-N16 is faster, performing at ~9MB/s vs E3000's ~5MB/s

    qnap

Firmware version is last one 3.41.
As per changelog it was written that speed of download will increase, but I afterwards I have used only utorrent at my desktop.

They didn't check with Tomato. And they checked with FAT on the orginal firmware. Tomato and HD formated as ext3 will bring faster performance.

so why are you asking a question when you have answered it for yourself? personally if the e3000 has better throughput on standard firmware, tomato will only be better for the e3000 also.

Seems strange the RT-N16 only supported 200 max connections.

btw EXT4 is faster still ;) on average my nas setup is doing approx 60-80MB/s write and 90-105MB/s read

I know Tomato is faster. What I asked is who is fastest of RT-N16 vs E3000 with Tomato as a NAS. Does anyone have any professional realworld testing? Or have disassemblied it and knows who has the best USB chipset...
