Running SSH server in router instead of LAN PC

At the moment i run SSH server in one of my LAN's PC and have one port open in router for it. There is several SSH users who use it to tunnel RDC to their LAN PC's. I would like to move SSH server to my router. I wonder... would it be possible to have included SSH server in FW of router - maybe in Victek's mod?

My router is WRT54GL running Tomato 1.20 (soon will switch to Victek's ND version of mod).

Tomato has a pretty full build of "dropbear" which is an ssh server, client and key generator.

You can start extra instances of it from the command line to listen on non standard ports - but will also have to open firewall on those.

Do you think a little 200MHz router will still have acceptable network performance while processing multiple encrypted SSH tunnels? My guess is that it might slow the network down considerably..

Make it a pppoe connection and the lan clients wireless with high encryption - maybe you get a new way of benchmarking!
