Features I'd like to See in the RV016.

    1. NAT and Routing between multiple subnets. This looks like it's probably fixed on the newest beta 2.0.13.

    2. Ability to assign multiple alias IP's to the LAN interface.

    3. Ability to assign the local lan a class B or class A subnet mask.

    4. Ability to route via each of the IPSEC interfaces in the static routing page.

    5. Ability to manually enter MTU values for each WAN Interface. There are a couple posts on this forum that show that it can be done from the busybox interface.

    6. A cooling fan attached to the inside of the case to help keep the router from overheating.

    7. Better logging capabilities. I'd like to see something more similar to either Hotbrick 800/2 VPN or netgear logging options.

    8. Much better documentation. Most of the features of the RV016 are poorly documentated and the existing documentation is outdated.

    9. More frequent firmware releases that fix issues without breaking things that are working.

    10. Ability to specify which interface port forwarding entries should apply to. Currently, it appears that assigning port forwarding affects both WAN ports. I'd like to be able to choose which or both of the ports to forward ports on for a particular service.

    11. Better system monitoring interface from the web gui. I'd like to be able to see %processor time used and %ram used by the system.

I forgot to mention VPN failover and VPN aggregation. And, I'd also like to see the ability to configure routing between VLAN ports.

    You're right. I don't want much. hahahaha!!

just seems strange you buy a router that does do all of these things then expect linksys to add them. usually you would buy a router that supported these features first of all since getting them added at a later date will be a miracle.

I have a feature request : increase the speed of load balancing to something more then 2Mbps :) For a 400$ router, it's pretty sad.

Hey, it's a wish list. I'm pretty happy with the RV series as they are, especially now that they'll NAT from multiple subnets.

Still, most of Linksys' competitors in this market segment have several of the additional capabilities mentioned in the wish list.

(Draytek 3300 series-- 802.1q vlans, IP aliases on LAN, VPN failover and aggregation, High Availability using VRRP, PPTP server, VPN using certificates, Netgear FVS538 -- IP aliases, VPN failover and aggregation I think, classical routing capabilities. Hotbrick 800 series -- VPN failover, classical routing capabilities, ability to NAT multiple subnets, VPN using security certificates, DLink DFL 210 -- ip aliases, configurable NAT, DHCP pass thru, OSPF routing, 802.1q vlans, VPN using Certificates).

I guess that I'd like to see some of them added to Linksys products to make them more marketable and flexible for my customers to use as they grow. Also, Linksys is somewhat vague about the actual capabilities of the RV016.
