My RV042 is not automatically switching to WAN2 when WAN1 fails.

    My Firmware Version is:

I attached a screecap of my "System Management" settings.

The issue is that when I unplug the WAN1 Modem, the RV042 doesn't switch to WAN2.

If I goto the System Summary Tab and click "renew" on WAN2, it detects WAN2 and works fine.

    What am I doing wrong?

The first question is: Are you unplugging the WAN1 modem from the RV042 router or from the Internet?

Some modems are acting as gateways, In this case just the "Default Gateway" setting in the Network Service Detection will not trigger the WAN change. The Network Service Detection should be checking some remote IP in the Internet, in such a case.

When powered down the WAN1 modem, it did not log or switch to WAN2.

When I physically unplug the WAN1 Cat5 from the router, it switches automatically to WAN2 and logs the switch.

I switched the Network Detection on WAN1 to the "Host IP," and it is now switching to WAN2 when I unplug the WAN1 modem from the wall. Thank you! It appears to be working smoothly now.

I'm puzzled by one thing. As the attached screenshot shows, when WAN1 is up, the admin panel lists as the IP address for WAN2. When WAN1 is down, the admin panel shows IP addresses for both WAN1 and WAN2. Is this normal for the RV042?
