    Hello,

We just have upgraded our RV042 firmware to version +1.3.7.4-q50 (Feb 7 2006 13:54:29) downloaded from www.linksys.com/quickvpn (50 Quick VPN - clients). After this upgrade Firewall section (General page) is inaccesible - it refreshes constantly and there is no "Save settings button". Another bug is that PPTP server stop working.
Firmware was uploaded three times, device was reset after each upgrade (to factory settings) - it did't help....

Anyone saw this kind of strange behavior ?

Thanks for any help with this very frustrating issue.

    Regards
    Tom

    Hello,

I've just spoke on live chat with Linksys tech support. It is some kind of joke. The don't know nothing about devices they sell...I was told that upgrade for 50 quickvpn clients it is software change (quickvnclient) and there is no need to upgrade rv042 firmware...

Great, why i havent bought zywall....;-)

    Regards
    Tom

try disabling your Antivirus software. it sound like something is interfering with he browser. I have known antivirus/firewall packages to do things like this

    Hello,
Sorry but this is not firewall / antivirus issue. I've tried upgrade / manage this router using "clean" windows install (no antivirus/firewall) no internet connection and the same errors occurs. Previous firmware 1.3.7.4-q5 was ok but with only 5 quick vpn clients support and with PPTP working...

    Regards

    Hello,

Case solved. Of course it was firmware error. So don't trust Linksys :) firmware for RV042 version 1.3.7.4 q50 which you can download from www.linksys.com/qucikvpn is corrupted. Now I've installed 1.3.7.9 and everything is ok (of course now we have 5 instead of 50 qucik vpn useres but finally device work properly).

    Thanks for help
    Regards

I had this same thing happen to me, I had to reinstall the firmware. Resetting to factory defaults and reloading the q50 firmware solved it, but I ended up updating to the latest anyway, being that NAT-T was more beneficial to me.
