RV042 to RV042 over dsl

I am trying to setup a VPN tunnel between two sites, a main office and a remote office. Both ends are connected to the internet via a dsl connection with static IP's.

I am able to connect a VPN tunnel, and I can ping the remote unit, but, I cannot ping any devices at the other site. This looks like a routing issue to me, but, how do I go about fixing this?

Both units are new, and are using the latest firmware. Lengthy calls into tech support has proven to be a waste of time.

I have tried different configurations, and right now, all settings have been restored to factory defaults with exception of the IP addresses to setup the VPN.

I can remotely access both RV042's, so the DSL connection does not appear to be at fault. I am using static addresses.

The LAN settings are default. The main site is 192.168.1.0 and the remote site is 192.168.2.0.

thanks for the reply. I'll read over that guide and see if I missed something.

But, I think I figured out the problem. I missed one thing in describing my setup. At the main office, there is a PIX (which is controlled by somebody else) that is setup as the gateway. The server and hosts have their gateway set to that. But, because the RV042 is creating a gateway to another subnet, the pix doesn't know the route to access the remote network, and the hosts don't know how to talk to the RV042. So, I think the best course of action would be to have the host change their gateway to the RV042, and add a static route to the RV042 to access the PIX.

Strange behavior of my VPN tunnel

My tunnels are connected but the problem is that it cannot ping the remote site after 2-5 mins.

SITE A network IP is 192.168.2.0
    SITE B network IP is:192.168.0.0

VPN tunnel connected successfully. Pinging site B to A has no problem. But pinging on Site A to B has a problem. It will ping only 2-3mins after the tunnel was stablished then after that NO PING at all. I need to reconnect the tunnel in order to get a ping from Site A to B but it pings only on a short time (2-3 mins).

Any IDEA? I will try to make my IP on site B to 192.168.1.0 instead of 192.168.0.0 after office hours. Any suggestion would be nice? thanks
