Ok guys Linksys has given me authorisation to release this as a beta.

The main difference is the firmware now supports Multiple Subnets from network page.

    RV042 Firmware v1.3.7.10 Release Note

    New Features:

    0. Support multiple subnets when RV042 is in the Gateway mode, i.e. NAT enabled. Now users can specify multiple subnets on the Setup->Network page.
    1. Support Paid Custom DNS for dyndns.org. A Custom DNS checkbox is displayed on Setup->DDNS->DynDNS.org page.
    2. Support IPSec NAT Traversal in both Gateway-to-Gateway and Client-to-Gateway modes.

    Issues Fixed:

    1. Fix the "Selective Acks Off" issue that affects performance.
    2. Fix the issue with saving a pre-shared key with apostrophe.
    3. Fix the subnet mask issue. Remark: In previous firmware, when the router's subnet mask is set to 255.255.255.192,
255.255.255.224, 255.255.255.240, 255.255.255.248, or 255.255.255.252, you will no longer be able to change the
    subnet back to 255.255.255.0.
    4. Restrict the Dynamic IP Range in DHCP Server Configuration to be in accordance with the LAN IP and Subnet Mask
configuration of RV router. For Example, when LAN IP/Mask = 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.128, the DHCP IP Range
the user can configure will be restricted to the range of 192.168.1.1 through 192.168.1.126.
    5. Fixed a PPTP Server problem that failed to establish PPTP connection when DMZ Host enabled.
    6. Disallow users to set x.x.x.0 in the LAN IP address field.
    7. Update the on-line help of VPN Client Access (QuickVPN) Setting.
    8. Modified the alert message as the following when enabling Remote Management.
    (1) When https is enabled, remote management enabled, and password being the default password,
    Message:
The Router is currently set to its default password. As a security measure, you must change the password
before the Remote Management feature can be enabled. Press "OK" to change your password, or press "Cancel"
to leave the Remote Management feature disabled.
    (2) When https is disabled, remote management enabled, and password being the default password,
    Message:
Please be warned that once remote management is enabled, it will be safer to remotely administer the router
by https on port 443 instead of http. The Router is currently set to its default password.
As a security measure, you must change the password before the Remote Management feature can be enabled.
Press "OK" to change your password, or press "Cancel" to leave the Remote Management feature disabled.
    9. RV042 will listen to ports 443 and 60443 for QuickVPN connection. Remark: Earlier firmware only listens to port 443.

    Known Issues:

    1. Changed the DHCP Server implementation. When the DHCP client requests the IP address of DNS server, RV042 will offer the DNS server's IP address obtained from ISP. (In previous firmware, RV042 offers its LAN IP as the DNS server's IP address.) However, if users configure a DNS server in the LAN and specify the IP address of the local DNS server on the Web UI, RV042 does not offer the local DNS server's IP address to the requesting DHCP clients.

**If firmware upgrade should fail using the Web UI, a TFTP utility can be used to load the v1.3.7.2 firmware into the router. You could then upgrade the firmware to v1.3.7.10 using the Web UI.**

    Download is avaible here:

Discussion of any relevant problems this firmware should be done in this thread in this thread. if you have a bug, please give as much details as possible of how to replicate the problem, and what methods you have tried to fix it.

I have noticed one problem on my rv042 with UPNP where it was adding multple entries of WS_FTP into the service management.

if you do use UPNP please check the upnp table and service management from time to time and see if you have any strange UPNP problems. it maybe just a one off thing but i could not fix it on my rv042.

Again... QoS feature is not in the webpage with this new firmware, can someone tell me why ? this router deserves a better QoS options, based on port and based on packadge with better bandwith control.

Does this mean that the router can be on different network? Rather than having another router in "bridge mode", the Rv042 can do it (and have ip's of those network)

your other thread has already been noted, please refrain from hi-jacking this thread. it is for bugs on this firmware only.

AFAIK my understanding is, the router has a LAN IP but other subnets can now be added to this setup to allow these new subnets to use the RV042 as a gateway.

Effectively.. I just finish all my test and "setup"..

I had 2 linksys router as a "bridge" before.. now, i removed it..

now, My Rv042 have 172.16.1.1 as primary lan ip,
172.16.4.2 and 192.168.1.2 as "other" lan ip.

Its doing the job of a bridge in that way, and it work perfectly!

There should be only one thing that they should consider.

When we add more "subnet" ip... (in setup, network). The DHCP of the rv042 should not listen on those "added ip". That will be perfect if that could happen

One good side effect of this new subnet feature is that when combined with the proper "Access Rules" it can simulated isolated VLANs. Not as nice as in the other bigger models, but functional.

Better yet, it should be a per subnet option: on or off

Also, the Status page could show all of the router's LAN IPs, not just the "primary" one.

    Correction:

DHCP does not apply to IP aliases, but rather to the physical network, so the whole thing is pointless.

But, if one add a DHCP on/off to the Port Management support, then one can associate port based VLANs with a specific LAN IP alias. This will require a table to enable disable a specific IP alias on a Port. A simple table LAN IP x VLAN or LAN IP x Port (each entry is a checkbox) could do the trick.

    High,
we have 3 RV042 one with DualWAN for Internet and 2 with single ADSL and a VPN Tunnel.
I upgraded these 2 with the VPN Tunnel to .10 to see if it is stable to change my DualWAN Internet too.
It seems that there is a issue with the VPN Tunnel in this release. The Tunnel stops working after several hours, no reconnect. When i say disconnect it will reconnect again. I have a static IP on both side.
Now i changed back to .9 again to see how it works over the weekend and the connection is still alive and working this morning.

On the multiple subnet setup is everyone entering the network address (i.e. 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0) or an address for the router on the added subnet (i.e 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0)?

the adress of the router with the subnet.. ie 172.16.4.2/255.255.255.0

I would guess you should be entering the "Subnet" address as ending in .0 and thing else is it wont be a subnet address it will be an IP address.

Its really the ip with the subnet..
