RV042 - VPN Log filling with Information Exchange message is invalid

    I have a RV042 up and running on 1.3.7.10 firmware with a VPN to a Netgear FVG318. The VPN works great, users see a lot of slowness when accessing the Access Database across the link (but that looks like a Microsoft issue).

    When checking the logs on the RV042, I have the following message in the logs every 2-10 seconds:

    Informational Exchange message is invalid because it has a previously used Message ID (different hex numbers here)

    Does anyone know what this means? Is there something misconfigured with this?

    Hello,

    I have a similar problem trying to connect a RV042 from/to a WAG54G. Basically whatever the settings, I can always connect the tunnel. But then depending on the SA life settings, the tunnel get disconnected after a few seconds and up to 1 minutes if I use the biggest allowed settings for SA life.
    In the end the VPN tunnel is useless unless I transfer very small files.
    What kind of settings do you use, I think I tried all of them ?

    I have gone back into the RV042 and disabled Dead peer detection and the log entries have stopped. When I am on the netgear, there is no option for DPD ... thus the problem.
