I have 3 RV042's all of them with the newest firmware..
I have set the time manually but when I reboot the router it resets the time back to Dec of 2002

I can set the NTP Time but why have the manual option if it don't work?
Also when you set the NTP it reboots and at Dec 2002 then sets the time from then.. I noticed this in the logs..

Same problem here. I have a list of problems with this device a foot long. Lets just say I will not buy another one - unless linksys fixes all the problems with it. I have had a trouble ticket open for a month now to find out what an entry in the log files mean with interface 307 and what that malicious program might be when you click on the hyperlink.

When I talked to Linksys they said that they had NEVER Heard of such a thing... I suspect that they will be doing a Firmware upgrade soon..
and it will do the trick..

If you haven't tried this yet, set the time zone to "automatically," set your local time zone to where ever you are, the set daylight savings to "automatic" also.

This is how I got around the "exact" same problem with the WRV54G. It seems both it and the RV series routers have have the same inherent problem.

The RV042 does NOT come with any battery(Like CMOS for computers) so it cannot hold anything when turned off that is not written to flash. Only the RV082 and RV16 have them.

Manually setting the time with work as long as the router is on and not turned off. I dont know why they did not include a battery like the RV82 or RV16.
