RV082 & 2 WAN via Cable Modems

I have a RV082 connected to two cable modems (12000/1000) from the same cable isp w/ the latest firmware. The cmts my isp uses is from ARRIS.

When I connect both modems the ping result (exp: www.heise.de) drops to ~50%, if I disconnect one modem the ping result is at 100%.

When I use my pfSense router (ALIX board) on both modems all works fine. The only thing I noticed that both gateways from the cable isp have the same mac addresse.

    bye!

One thing to try is manually setting the MTU. I noticed issues when going on 10 Meg cable. Mtu should usually be 1500 but the auto is set a lot lower than this.

Auto MTU has always been a bit of hit and miss on the RV series.

try doing a trace to see which WAN the ping is going through. if it is swapping between the two then you may need to protocol bind ping to make sure it is going via one wan only and not swapping between the two WAN interfaces.

What does your routing table look like? Are both WANs on the same subnet and using the same gateway? I don't know how well the RV handles that. Agreed that you should try port binding to make sure that both WANs are fully functional. You could temp setup a binding for a test machine IP and run some ping/trace/speed tests over each WAN and then to your normal setup.
