RV082 information

    Hello,all.
    Since he wanted to share the information on RV082, the new topic was made.

    Here is the printing place of a Japanese firmware.
    This Japanese firmware does not have QUICK-VAN and a VLAN function.

    About upgrade utility.

    upgrade utility of upgrade.exe (RV082-JP) or RV016_2.0.0.exe is performed.
    It judges by performing flash_layout in telnet. When telnetd is not effective, /sysinfo123.htm?ConsoleSimulation=1 is performed and telnetd is confirmed only now.
    This upgrade utility It is flashmemory at flash_layout.
    It seems that judge the contents, sysinfo123.htm is performed,
    a model name and version information are acquired,
    and the model judging is performed.
    Coincidence of a model and a version uploads a boot loader and firmware by tftp.

    Firmware is dedicated in the rmt format in this upgrade utility.

    Japanese firmware is not installable if it remains as it is to a RV082-US model.
    Since a version is different, Invaid Firmware! is displayed and upgrade utility stops.
    Considering how to deceive upgrade utility, Japanese firmware is installable in RV082-US.
    Here, it does not dare write a method.

    The compatibility with Firmware 1.x.x of Firmware 2.x.x is lost.

    There were a bunch of other ones but the 2 above will be nice for people to have.

    in x_test.htm there is a link to sys_setting1.htm that allows you to do a few things most notably is turning on telnet.

    Thank you for informational offer. Since my RV082 installed Japanese firmware, it cannot install the latest version of US firmware. Did TELNET come be made effectively simply?
    My RV082 is sorry about the ability not to try new US firmware.

    If the boot loader of US firmware becomes the same as JP firmware, although US firmware is re-installable.


    It is more convenient to confirm TELNET, since the portion which cannot be set up by WEBGUI is made in CLI.
