Running RVS4000 on a Comcast HSI line. With the lastest firmware 1.2.11 (and the older version as well) IPS is killing my speeds. With IPS on I can only run 12M down, 5M up; shut off IPS and I'm at 24M down and 10M up. IPS is knocking my speed in half. I could see some loss from due to inspection of the packets but 50% drop, wow. Anyone else seeing this? BTW, when I take the router out and hook the computer to the modem, I see the same speeds as I do with IPS off.

there seems to a be a misconseption of IPS will be the same speed no matter what.

unless you buy state of the art equipment of course your speed will drop, this is normal.
Inspecting packets at 24Mb or any highspeed is a very cpu intensive and thoughput will be affected.

Agree, I did not think IPS was an issue; for some reason once I went above the 8 to 10 Meg speed it was more noticable, but to see such a drastic impact really surprised me.
