RVS4000 QuickVPN Not Working!

    Hi All,
I've been searching through these threads trying to find some guidance. I have a RVS4000 running code v1.109 and installed the latest QuickVPN v1.2.8 application. This thing will just not connect for anything!

Some of my research has shown that this is not an IPSec tunnel but rather SSL. The QuickVPN log (wget_error) shows that it is trying to connect to the gateway over HTTPS. Is there a special configuration on the RVS4000 to make this work? The client always fails to connect. Nothing seems to show up in the incoming packets log or the local VPN log showing any attempts.

I really need help here. Any assistance would be much appreciated!

Its good you are trying the updated client but you should probably update the firmware on the RVS4000. There have been numerous updates since the original shipped version.

So after a little more digging it seems that the QuickVPN product is actually using SSL (HTTPS) to tunnel from client to RVS4000. I had thought it was IPsec.

Even more interesting is that an NMAP to the RVS4000 from the Internet shows that it is NOT listening on TCP/443 which means the HTTPS GET statement will never respond.

We called the ISP and they swore that they were not blocking TCP/443. So I guess the next step is to upgrade the firmware and then call Linksys back.

    Oh well...

    RVS4000 vpn problem

I've been having the same problem.
trying to get QuickVPN to connect from a laptop to the router.
I discovered that the laptop will not connect to the Router when I use the wireless connection at home but when I directly cable in to home router I can connect right away. The only clue to this problem is when I'm trying to connect via the wireless my wireless connection will drop and then reconnect. QuickVPN takes over your network connection and adds the LAN ip address of the remote router as a DNS server address causing this.
I'm guessing this is causing the remote vpn router to think this is a new connection which would explain the error message unable to ping/connect to server. When I see this error message I can manually ping the server but the ongoing VPN connection will not see the server.
