first time poster but this forum seems to be the place to get help...

recently changed my router to a RVS4000 (seemed like a good choice at the time) but unfortunately, i've had nothing but issues with it and I haven't gone near the VPN yet which from the various posts is problematic.

the unit came already with 1.1.09 but i've run into the following
    - turning ON syslog appears to crash it (memory leak after a while)
    - after every small change, saving settings means rebooting the unit which takes about a minute (why ?)
    - the router is configures in PPoE and gets the WAN info from my DSL modem, my provider has a flaky DNS server, but i can't seem to overwrite this info with other DNS addresses (I filled the Static DNS1/2/3 but it doesn't affect it)

I noticed that 1.1.11 is available as a beta... is it worth the try ?
    thanks

    Sami

Are you still in the 30 day refund period?

yes, still within my 30 days... but I was hoping for a solution other than returning it (but I am seriously considering it)

You were warned :) Mine has not worked right since the day I got it which is 5 or 6 months ago. I have it off the network now. Give it 2 or 3 years to stabilize and buy it again, it will have new chipset versions anyway by then. As a matter of fact I read rumors that the linksys brand will disappear from the face of the earth so wait a little and get maybe the new SOHO CISCO models that will be out by then.
