With DD-WRT, are the components needed to take advantage of a SD card already compiled into the kernel? If not, is it possible for them to be added in? And if that is possible, how? ;) I have found instructions on how to compile them in with openWRT, but I would like to use dd-wrt. Thanks

The SD card drivers are already compiled into the firmware.

you just have to enable the sd/mmc card support and the card gets automaticly mounted to the /mmc folder which is accessable for ipkg too by default
