Securing packet transfer over RV042

We have a RV042 VPN router which we're mainly intending to use for letting team members access some machines in office from any remote location. The users may mostly log into the office network from their homes or any other location via this Router for doing some software testing/ development.

Our current means of giving access to those machines is via the Router's QuickVPN or an OpenVPN client - we've configured few client IDs/users on the router using which members can log into some machines on the office network. The remote users will not to configure any VPN router at their end but will use QuickVPN for remote access.

In the above scenario, we would like to know if the access via QuickVPN is an encrypted data transfer. If so, what would be the kind of secure transfer it would give - Is it IPsec?? .. i suppose the client-to-gateway tunnelling option will not be applicable in the above arrangement we have and so would be the case with gateway-to-gateway.
Could you then please propose a means by which we can secure the data transfers while keeping the setting simple?

Our work environment is mainly Linux-based.

    Thanks in advance.
