I just hooked up a WRK54G to my cable modem to my house. My wife can now get the internet on her comptuer upstairs, using a WUSB54G.
A friend stopped by with her laptop & was able to get onto the internet using my wireless. She said I did not have any security setup. Going on my Linksys Setup I see where security mode is disabled. I'm not sure what to do? I don't understand the terms. Can I just leave it?
    Thanks

    no, of course not.
being as it is at the moment, ANYONE that has reception can access your local PCs, and (mis)use your interweb connection....

set a custom SSID, and active WEP, at least.
this isnt troublesome, as the firmware is really handy there.

and also try enabling the mac address filter on your router and disable the ssid broadcast on your router so that your network is more secure

well, MAC filter is more like a pain in the butt coz you have to enable everyones access prior to that.

besides, MAC filters are really easy to overcome.
