I dubbed this little write-up “the poor man’s dual bandâ€. We all know it is not – I’m just having fun.

I recently upgraded from Linksys GL to Asus N16 running TomatoUSB. I have couple wireless G devices and couple wireless N devices on my network. Initially, I set the wireless mode on the N16 to “auto†to accommodate my G devices. I noticed that I was not getting the full speed of the N devices. So I decided to re-enlist the GL. I set it up as an AP and set the wireless mode to G only. I then set the N16 wireless mode to N only. Now all the G devices are connecting to the GL and all N devices are connecting to the N16. I just wanted to share my experience.
