Seriously unhappy with Linksys UK and WAG54G

    I just have to warn everyone about Linksys "UK". I have a WAG54G v1.2 which has all the problems described in detail on this helpful site. No firmware update has been able to give me a stable WLAN.

    Initially the 0870 7393939 helpline (obviously not located in the UK)was quite "helpful" and after my 3rd call agreed to replace the unit, and assured me that after filling in an email, a new unit would be sent out and the old one collected, so that I would not be without a DSL connection. However no email arrived. After a week, I rang again - same story, again no email. 3rd time, after 2 weeks, they said they would "prioritise" me - and sure enough the RMA email arrived within 1 hour - but with instructions for the unit to be returned via UPS and "after about 1 week" a replacement would be sent. I rang them again - they will NOT send a replacement first.

    I have spent about £13 on the phone to their 0870 number. The WAG54G unit is useless as a WLAN (OK as a DSL modem, though).

    It is time to give up in disgust and warn you all.

    Same problem...

    Same problem except I started with a WAG54G v1.0...

    Then sent it in, [Internet withdrawl :( ] got a WAG54G v1.2 a few days later... same problems...

    Bitch, complain.... (no net again....)

    Sent in the WAG54G v1.2 and eventually got a WAG54G v2 which after flashing to the latest firmware, hasn't given me any hassles. *shock horror*

    .... So in summary... push until you get a WAG54G v2.
