I have set up my tomato router (Linksys WRT54G v2.1) as a wireless client before but I am having trouble remembering how to do it. First of all, can it connect to wireless networks which are password protected? I have another router (Linksys WRT54G v5.x) running DD-WRT which has a WPA2 password. And second of all, what settings do I need to change in order to accomplish this?

By password protected, I assume u mean the passwords used in the WPA2/WPA/WEP encryption scheme. If that's the case, then yes, Tomato does support (together with almost all (if not all) firmwares) that. It's just like setting the router in Wireless Ethernet Bridge mode or Wireless Distribution System mode, where u need to input the password to connect to the Access Point router.
