Apologize for simple question, just want to make sure. I plan on using my spare WRT54G to access the internet on my network. How do i set it up on another computer after I have downloaded the upgrade? Do I run the original install software that came with it on the new computer then just set it to client mode, configure IPs and WEP security properly and that's it? Or can it simply be connected to the ethernet port on the new computer and be configured that way? Also, how is it connected to the computer (i.e. what port is used to connect to the computer ethernet port?) Thanks for your help.

afaik you would need to use something like Satori firmware as this would allow the 2nd WRT to become a Client.

steps to use WRT54G as client to access network

Right, I've downloaded the free firmware from Satori that i plan on using with my WRT54G to access my network on another computer. So once it has been upgraded with the firmware, what are the steps to set it up on another computer that will not have the linksys software on it, and what is the port/cable configuration. I assume I just plug a cable into one of the four ports on the back into the ethernet port on the computer. Thanks again.
