Settings in TCPOptimizer that still help if you have a Router?

Subject says it all really. Are there any settings in TCPOptimizer that still help improve network/Browser Cache/general speed if you have a Router? Is anyone using both? Any advantages/disadvantages?

I have PPPoE DSL so my MTU is set to 1492 in the Router. But looking at the series of patches on the speedguide site, there a lot of settings which you don't set in the Router. Do they still help?

Yes, tools such as TCPOptimzer and DrTCP can still help. The router doesn't do anything much in terms of optimizing your network performance.

Best way to find out for yourself is to try changing your settings.
