    ok folks,

i'm a cisco guy and for the life of me can't figure out what i'm missing for a 'write mem' on this switch

i configure a new SGE2000P switch, change IP, create users, modify some spanning tree stuff, nothing crazy yet till i get this thing saving first!

then every time i reboot the switch or power it off/on it is back to defaults. ive logged out before doing it and i see nothing in the menu for writing the config. am i blind or what? I've config'd via web and console with the same result.

    can anyone help?

    HI,

I installed this switch at a customer site and was confused at first with the configuration disappearing. Turns out you have to copy the current config to the startup config using the function located in the File Management area.

    Hope that helps.

  3. Hi,

I had the same problem. To fix I've done the following:

    1. To go menu Admin > File Management > Copy Files
    2. Select Copy Configuration
    3. In Source File Name select Running Configuration
    4. In Destination File Name select Startup Configuration
    5. Then Apply

After that repeat 1 to 4 pass changing Startup Configuration to Backup Configuration.

I'm not sure if it is the best way to fix it, but works fine.
Some switches from Cisco works in the same way.

    Cheers,
    Armando
