I have a USB drive attached to my Netgear R7000. Just installed Shibby's tremendous 119 version.

Need some help setting up file sharing for someone "out there" to d/l files from my usb attached drive. With Netgear's firmware I did the simple Readyshare type thing. I'm only looking at a way for a friend to d/l an occasional file and not trying to have a full blown torrent or ftp server. Netgear's Readyshare thing was perfectly suited for our needs.

How would I set something similar up in Tomato? If use its FTP server are there any FAQ's somewhere?

My attached USB drive is /tmp/mount/Archives.

There's an FTP Server tab under "USB & Nas" , it looks extremely straightforward to me?

I haven't been able to get mine to work W/ a noip account. Know there are some who got it to work, but haven't been able to find screen shots of the nuts and bolts. The drive is visible and available to the network as an unkown samba device. I can ping, but it won't let me telnet into it. Any thoughts for the less skilled?

    How about OwnCloud?

But it needs at least a PHP version 5.3 or higher and that is only available in Entware repository, optware has 5.2
For now ARM routers only supports Optware packages so probably out of luck for now.

Or maybe you can just setup a lighttpd on your routers and instead share that file using a standard http link .
