I am curious to know if there is any difference in features between builds 138 and 140. I am currently using 1.38 on netgear R7000.

Is there any way to preserve current setting during the upgrade? Would I really be benefiting from the upgrade if its fixing a few bugs?

I just upgraded a Netgear R6300v2 to 140 with no issues. I left "After flashing, erase all data in NVRAM memory" unchecked and all my settings were retained.

Yes, just don't clear NVRAM memory, and considering it has patches for two CVEs.... (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE)
