Signal Repeat with WRT54G

I picked up a WRT54G router today, and have successfully flashed the Sveasoft Alchemy-pre7a firmware to it. What I need to know is how can I make this router repeat a weak signal around me. I want to be able to repeat this signal inside of my house, so that my computers can connect to the stronger signal. I looked into WDS, but I do not have access to the other router to make the necessary changes to that router. Is there a way I can setup mine in client mode to connect to the other router, and run a sub-lan inside my house? Or any other way for that matter? Any guides or info would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I followed the AP to client guide, and have successfully gotten it to connect to the main router. What I don't know is, how can I now connect to my Access Point wirelessly, and still get it to work? Right now it's working, but only with wired connections. Since my Access point, and the router have the Same SSID, I don't know how to specify which one I connect to wirelessly. When I connect the SSID that they are named, my signal strength is extremely low, so I know I'm connecting to the router, and not the access point that is 8 feet away.

ok, but using WDS, wouldn't I need access to the other router? Right now I don't have physical, or adminstrative priveleges on that router.
