Does busybox as found in "stock" TomatoUSB (i.e. from TB's git) support ssh compression?

    Thanks,

I'm not entirely sure... but I suspect it doesn't.
I just checked srt[-rt]/Makefile and found '--disable-zlib' at some point inside the 'dropbear/config.h:' target.
(but I could be wrong... please let us know if that's the case).

    Cheers!

I've confirmed that it indeed does not. :) (And apologies for saying "busybox", I obviously meant "dropbear" ;)

I've also found that dropbear prior to 2011.54 doesn't properly support IPv6 binding/tunneling, so I've worked around that by switching to openssh/sshd for now (which, as a happy bonus, also supports compression =). Not sure what versions of dropbear various mods are using, but there are some pretty serious bugs around forwarding and IPv6 (at least two) that were present in 0.53(.1) and fixed in 2011.54, so if they haven't been rolled in, they probably should be.

    Thanks!

Just checked the GIT repo: dropbear has been upgraded to v2011.54 on branch Teaman-RT and does seem to have been upgraded to that same version on branch Toastman-RT as well (not absolutely sure about other branches at this moment...)

    Cheers!
