Ok I managed to get my VPN up and running and have it associated with a dyndns name...

When VPN is off i manage to ping and have remote management from an OUTSIDE network, however when I have VPN enabled I can't ping or access the remote management via the dyndns name or the new VPN public address.!!

I'm obviously missing a simple step!! help plz

I assume you're just setting up the VPN client (not the server, too)?
Can I also assume you're redirecting Internet traffic through the tunnel?

If those are true, then the VPN server would have to set up port forwarding for you to manage your router through the tunnel. And, you can't manage the router over the WAN in that configuration because the return traffic tries to go over the tunnel (because that where Internet traffic set to go).

If you know the IP address of where you want to configure the router from, you can create a static route that tells it to always use the WAN gateway to talk to that address.

Ahh thank you.. Got it.. Yes Client only and Yes redirecting traffic..

It's a service based VPN (witopia) so I don't believe I can setup server side config to reroute the management port. Also management would be done from many random Ip's so cant setup a static route..

I wonder if higher premium VPN services allow setting up Ports
