Okay guys I need some help here. I have a WRT54G v. 5 connected by a ADSL. I'm connected to that via a Hawkins antennas and a WRE54G. For some reason, this just started a couple of days ago, when I make a Skype call with a Plantronics CS50 I get knocked off the air after a minute or so. The wireless connection goes down and I have to wait for it to reacquire the signal and then go through the whole connection process. I also have a Tweakmaster DU meter and notice a spike when this occurs. Whaddaya think????

Not that any of them are good, but what firmware are you using? Have you tried the latest version? If not, you should. My guess is that the next post will be someone telling you to load third party firmware on the router, since that seems to be the only fix for problems like this.

    Total Confusion

Thanks for the reply. First of all Skype with the Plantronics worked flawlessly for over a year on on a WRT54G the says version 2 on the bottom. It also worked great on this WRT for awhile, which says ver 5 on the bottom, yet on the dial in page it says firmware V1.0.6. Which brings me to another point. I also have another one not in use other than to rest cigarettes on it while I'm struggling thru this mess, that says Version 6 on the bottom, yet when I dial into it it says Firmware v1.0.7. How does the numbering work, Like the centuries?
I'm still troubling shooting this thing and I'm going to try maintaining a call just with the laptop audio devices. Also, I just upgraded the sofware on the Plantronics CS50 and thats kind of when the problem started. However, it operates in the 8-900 mhz range. Anyway, at least I'm learning. When just using the net, I seem to be trouble free. Thanks again.
