slightly odd DHCP/static lease question

I bought a new printer the other day and it has ethernet. I set it up for "AUTO" ip address, and created a static lease for it in Tomato, using its MAC address. It works (printer gets correct address) but in the Device list, there is an "*, " in front of the name, and the lease always says 0:00:00.

any ideas why this is? bad printer or something wonky in my Tomato? thanks

If you set the static lease time to infinite then it displays as zeros.

I haven't set the lease time to infinite, not even sure how to do that.. I dont see anywhere in the tomato interface to set lease time. I actually think this has something to do with BOOTP. I saw something in my log:

    Feb 2 13:10:09 tomato daemon.info dnsmasq[2384]: BOOTP(br0) 172.31.254.7 00:20:6b:c1:f0:89

It seems like the printer is requesting an IP using BOOTP protocol instead of DHCP. Maybe that's why the * appears next to it, and lease is infinite?

My FreeNAS server with a static lease also shows as "*".
    But the lease does countdown.

delete the ,minolta2490 and leave the *
