    I use a linksys WRT54G v1.1 with offical firmware v4.20.6 connected into a speedtouch 530 ethernet modem.

The connection is shared 3 ways, two wired one wireless. The network is working fine except for our internet download speeds of about 100-150kps each (sharing a 3.5meg line!)

Our ISP is Bulldog, who also provide our phone line which is crackly and echoy beyond use.

I read this forum and found that when i unplug the phone (which is connected though a different wall port) the internet speed is back up to 1.5mps each.

Does anyone know how to resolve this problem - should i be bugging my ISP or is there anything i can do locally?

Is there a DSL filter installed on the telephone line? If it is the filter may be defective. Also if you have a spare telephone. switch the telephone.

I know the phone works OK as prior to having a phone line supplied by Bulldog, it worked perfectly with BT. I tried another phone anyway and same prob.

Good call with the DSL filter though... ADSL and Voice weren't sharing a filter, but even changing my filter on the modem socket in the study, means I can have the phone plugged in in the lounge at the same time!
