    Hi all,

I'm experiencing a strange issue. I get extremely slow downloads at some sites when connected through my router, however a direct connection is OK.

An example is the below file from Hitachi Global Storage Technologies.
    http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/downloads/dft32_v408_b00.iso

Through my WRT54G v2.2 with latest official firmware, the download speed is <10kB/sec.

If connect my Motorola cable modem direct to PC, I get speed of 700kB/sec.

Anyone has any clue what is the problem with the router? Is it fried?

    This is what I have.
Intel 3GHz Desktop, onboard Marvell Gigabit LAN
WRT54G v2.2 with latest official firmware
Motorola SB5101(I think so) cable modem - broadband plan is 6.5Mbps

Appreciate any expert advise? Or should I rma my router?

    Thanks.

Did you figure this out yet?? I have been having similiar issues for the past two weeks. I have changed cables, routers, and the modem, all to no avail. My problem is that I have 2 desktops (hardwired) and a laptop which is wireless all going thru a linksys router. If I go direct from the cable I have great download speeds, once it is put thru the router download speeds on the second desktop slows to a crawl (20-30 kbps).
