im using the latest satori firmware on the WRT54G. i have only one laptop connected wireless w/ a netgear wg511 card. im using wep, g-only, channel 1 and flame burst enable. the max throughput i get to a wired pc is only 2 megabytes/ sec. shouldn't i be getting more then this, since is is 54g.

try a different channel 6 or 11 and put the transmit power up if you haven't already done so.

known issue *i've throuroughly benchmarked alchemy 5.2.3 vs hyperWRT.

TCP wise, hyperWRT is 50% faster (3MB vs 2)
    UDP wise, they're the same.

I just went out and got the wireless GS pcmcia card. After a few days of testing I gave up and returned it.

Against satori, I got constant disconnects. And every so often it would erase all my static ip configurations, worse every so often it would just say the cable was disconnected. Rebooting sometimes fixed it, but a couple of times I had to uninstall and reinstall the whole thing to get it to work again.

Often I would try to connect to my wrt54gs using a profile w/WEP, and it would connect to a neighbors DLINK w/no WEP instead!? WTH? Sig strengh on mine was 100% sig strength to theirs was 11%!

My first speed tests felt like dial up speed. No joke, I maxed at about 30KB/s. I disabled afterburner mode (my whole reason for buying the wrtgs and gs wireless card) and instantly I was at at .7MB/s. I further tweaked(reduced power output on the WRT, installed a booster instead, added two 7DB antennas, set to left right antenna diversity, put on frame burst, went to channel 11). In the end the best I could get was 1.5MB/s.

So slow, and buggy. This is my second attempt to use satori for something, so far I striking out on every attempt. :(
