Slow webserver behind router

Discussion in 'Networking Issues' started by flashpoint241, Dec 10, 2006.

  1. Hi,

I have an WRT54G linksys router. Behind that I have a web and ftp server running. I have forwarded port 80 to the ip adres of my lan server. The webserver is real quick from within my lan. But externally the webserver is real slow. Images of just 50 Kb take at least 10 seconds to load. I tried from more locations to access my server but it's all slow.

I have an cable connection to the internet which should be fast enough (80 Kb/s upload) I have friends running a webserver with the same type cable connection running a webserver that don't have this problem.

Could the problem be caused by the router? Are any settings I can make ?

    Thanks,

    Marty
