So i have small network of 40-50 users, they use internet for email, youtube, facebook, news etc. (student population)
I have now WRT54GL, and i think its time to replace that since it crashes sometimes...
Can u suggest me few routers that will satisfy my needs.

The first thing to possibly do is to check on the latest firmware upgrade (assuming you haven't checked into that already). Otherwise here's the CISCO small business router page:

Personally, between Toxic and myself, we've tested the WRV200/210 models, RVL200 (Toxic), WRVS4400N (me), RV042 (Toxic), WRV54G (me), and as of late last year, the RV220w line. I'm currently a fan of the RV220w although I haven't had mine on line in a while (testing an asterisk VoIP solution with a Cisco 871w at the moment and some other things). The things to consider are (which you may or may not at this point):

    1) Is VoIP being used?
    2) Are vlans used to separate data (and voice if running VoIP)?
    3) Is QoS in place to conserve bandwidth to include how much bandwidth is available?
    4) What type of users do I have?
    5) What type of applications are being used?

I'm "waaaaaaay" rusty at the moment due to having been put in an administrative role for the last 17 mos (hence my absence from the forum), but these are the first questions to come to mind when considering a router purchase (at least to me, anyways). That being said, here's a page for "online demos" of a few of the routers listed above if you're curious about features:

Well, the WRV200 routers do not seem to be very reliable. I had a few of them going berserk. Once set up it seems to be working fine for months. But sometimes after a configuration change router starts to reboot randomly a few times a day. It seems there is a probability of configuration corruption during changes.

I'm unable to make friends with RV042 v3, as well. It seems too unpredictable for me. VPN tunnels are working after setting up, but after a while all VPN tunnels are dead. Configuration reload and power cycle does not seem to work. After factory defaults reset everything seems to be working, till VPN stops, again. I think I will shelve this model till another firmware update, or longer.

I'm working with RV042 v1 and RV082 v1, right now. They seem to be a good choice. Did not tested any other suggested devices.
