    I have a windows 7 laptop and I disabled SMBv1 on laptop. Then found out that I can not connect to the same share hosted on the Asus router running Tomato by shibby...

    The error message I got from log is similiar to below:

    smbd[7182]: No protocol supported !

    So I wonder if Samba included in the firmware has the support for non-SMBv1?

    No. SMBv2 and newer are not supported.

    RMerlin, this is related to the kernel version used by Tomato, right? How is the situation with your firmware? Thanks :)

    Is there any plan to have that support added in future?

    No, this is related to the Samba version.

    My firmware does have a newer Samba version with SMBv2 support, however due to the weak CPU in these routers, it causes a serious performance drop (about 15% slower), so it's not enabled by default.

    I know I am not using your firmware at the moment but is there a way to enable that on my running firmware assuming I would be willing to take the performance hit?

    Tools -> Other Settings

    After that, reboot the router AND all of your computers to apply (otherwise, computers will keep using the protocol that was first negotiated).
