Been browsing the forums and FAQ's, and been pretty much blown away by some of the things people have been doing. Who would have known these little linksys boxes could do so much?

I am going to buy a new linksys (WRTxxxx) router, but have some questions:

    1. I need the ability to do sniffing, will prob. use Windows ver of Ethereal. I need to capture all packets, both wireless and wired, that traverse this router. Is this possible, and if so, can I do it with Win version of Ethereal, or do I need to load a sniffer on the router itself or on a linux box?

    2. What firmware would be most conducive to my needs above? Any advantages of firmwares for sniffing purposes? And does the model of the WRTxxxx router matter much for sniffing?

Any/All info on this would be greatly appreciated. Links or URL's would be great...just need a push in the right direction.
